THE LGT CHAPTER
1,000 players. 1,000 Space Marines. One Chapter.
Last year, 1,085 players made the London Grand Tournament the biggest Warhammer 40,000 singles event in history.
This year, for the tenth LGT, we're turning that community into something you can see.
We're asking LGT players to paint and contribute one Space Marine each. At the event, those individual models will muster together as The LGT Chapter: a Chapter-strength force of 1,000 Space Marines, built by the people who built the LGT.
All our players are unique, but we're united by a shared passion: a love of Warhammer. The LGT Chapter is our weird and wonderful community made physical.
How to take part

Choose. Pick any Codex-compliant Adeptus Astartes model. No advance registration required.

Paint. Paint it however you want: established Chapter, successor, homebrew, bright, grimdark, strange or silly. There's no "right" way to do this.

Record the journey. Share assembly, work-in-progress and finished photos using #LGTChapter, #RoadtoLGT and #LGT2026, and tag us so we can see it.

Name your Marine. In your WIP posts, give your Marine a name and tell us any story or idea behind it. We'd love to hear it.

Join the Chapter. Bring your finished model to the LGT and drop it off at the TO desk. Once we accept it, it becomes a permanent part of The LGT Chapter.
This is not a painting competition. Every experience level is welcome, and nothing will be ranked or judged.
Who can take part

Anyone attending LGT 2026. You don't need to be playing Space Marines yourself, you just need to paint one model for the shared project.

Any Adeptus Astartes model that would be legal for a Codex-compliant Space Marines army.

Any Chapter, unit type, armour mark, colour scheme or appropriate conversion; established Chapter, homebrew heraldry, whatever you like.

There's no required colour scheme, no LGT device, and no required basing treatment.

No advance sign-up or pledge form. Just bring your finished model to the TO desk at the event.
Important: this is a permanent contribution
Once your model is accepted into The LGT Chapter at the TO desk, it stays part of the Chapter and will not be returned to you. With around 1,000 models expected, handing every miniature back at the end of the weekend would be a huge logistical challenge. It could mean long waits, misplaced models and, most importantly, an increased risk of damage to the miniatures you’ve worked so hard on.
Please only bring a model you're happy to permanently donate to the Chapter. Your Marine becomes a lasting part of an LGT display that can be shown at future events and revisited for years to come.

FAQs
Do I need to sign up in advance?
No. There's no registration or pledge form. Just paint your model and bring it to the TO desk at the event.
I don't play Space Marines. Can I still take part?
Yes! You don't need to own or play a Space Marines army. You just need to paint one Codex-compliant Adeptus Astartes model to contribute.
Does my model have to match a specific colour scheme?
No. There's no official LGT colour scheme, device or basing requirement. Established Chapters, successor Chapters, homebrew heraldry, bright, grimdark, strange or silly; all of it is welcome. The variety is the point.
Is this a painting competition? Will my model be judged?
No. This is not a competition. Models won't be ranked, scored or judged, and there's no minimum painting standard. Every experience level is welcome, including first-time painters.
What happens to my model after I drop it off?
It becomes a permanent part of The LGT Chapter and will not be returned to you. Please see the "permanent contribution" section above before you decide to take part.
What size or type of model counts?
Any Codex-compliant Adeptus Astartes model. Any unit type or armour mark is fine, including appropriate conversions.
Where do I drop off my finished model?
At the TO desk at LGT 2026. You can drop it off before your first game begins, or at the end of the event. Whichever suits you.
Why are you doing this?
Because more than a thousand different people coming together over a shared love of Warhammer is the real achievement behind the LGT's scale. We wanted to make that visible, not just claim it. The LGT Chapter turns the size of the event into something built by the community itself.
